PlateDesignTools uses a per-seat license key. Enter it once and it activates this machine. Moving machines, the 30-day trial, and offline use are all supported.
The first time you start the app it shows an activation dialog. Paste your license key from the order confirmation email and click Activate. One key activates one PC per seat purchased — a 3-seat license activates on 3 machines, and so on. The activation is stored under %LOCALAPPDATA%\PlateDesignTools\.
If you don't have a key yet, click Buy a license / start a free trial in the dialog, or visit pricing.
A trial key activates exactly the same way as a paid key. You get the full feature set, no limits, for 30 days. When the trial period ends the app prompts you to renew — paste a new key in ⚙ → License… to continue. Trial keys are issued per request — see Contact.
⚙ → License… shows the current license: the key (masked), who it's licensed to, seats used / total, expiry date, and when it was last verified online. Click Refresh to re-check now.
On the old PC, open ⚙ → License… and click Deactivate this machine. Then enter the same key on the new PC and click Activate. Activating the same key on a second PC without first deactivating the old one is refused with "This license key has reached the activation limit".
If you can't reach the old machine (broken, lost, replaced), email [email protected] with your license key and we'll reset an activation for you.
The app verifies the license online when it starts, but keeps working for up to 14 days if it can't reach the internet. After that it needs to verify online once before continuing. The only network call for licensing is to api.lemonsqueezy.com (our license provider).
